1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/2 cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Notes

Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for depth of flavor.

Sprinkle 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts over the batter before baking for added crunch.

Enhance spice by adding 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger or cardamom.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

Reheat gently in the oven to maintain the crisp topping.
