Crispy, ranch-seasoned chicken thighs with crackling skin and juicy, tender meat—an easy, family-favorite dinner baked to perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 (1-ounce) packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (205°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper, or place a wire rack on the sheet for extra crispiness.

2. Pat the chicken thighs completely dry with paper towels to remove surface moisture.

3. Place the chicken thighs in a large bowl and drizzle with olive oil, rubbing to coat evenly.

4. In a small bowl, mix the ranch seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until well combined.

5. Season the chicken generously on both sides, pressing the seasoning onto the skin to help it adhere.

6. Arrange the thighs skin-side up on the prepared baking sheet with space between each piece.

7. Bake for 35–40 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the skin is golden and crispy. Broil for 2–3 minutes at the end for extra crispiness if desired.

8. Remove from the oven and rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve.

Notes

Dry thoroughly: Moisture is the enemy of crispiness, so take extra time patting the chicken dry.

Use a wire rack: Elevating the chicken allows hot air to circulate for even crisping.

Bring to room temperature: Let chicken sit out 15–20 minutes before cooking for more even results.

Season under the skin: For deeper flavor, rub some seasoning directly onto the meat beneath the skin.

Watch the broiler: The final minutes add great color and crunch—keep a close eye to avoid burning.
