  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp soy sauce (optional, for umami flavor)
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup crispy fried onions, divided
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional, for extra richness)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. In a large bowl, combine soup, milk, soy sauce, pepper, and half of the fried onions.

3. Add green beans and stir gently to coat.

4. Pour into a greased 2-quart baking dish.

5. Bake for 25 minutes.

6. Sprinkle remaining fried onions and cheese if using on top.

7. Bake another 5–10 minutes, until golden and bubbly.

8. Let stand 5 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

Use fresh beans: Blanch them 4 minutes for extra crunch.
