A quick and flavorful weeknight dish featuring savory ground beef, tender noodles, and a rich Mongolian-inspired sauce.

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 10 oz linguine
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 4 green onions, sliced for garnish

Instructions

1. Cook the linguine according to package directions, then drain and set aside.

2. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat and drain excess fat.

3. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.

4. Stir in the brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ground ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.

5. Mix the cornstarch and water to create a slurry and stir into the skillet until the sauce thickens, about 2–3 minutes.

6. Add the cooked linguine and toss to coat in the sauce.

7. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.

Notes

Add bell peppers or broccoli for extra texture and nutrition.

For a gluten-free version, use tamari and gluten-free pasta.
