Tender, shredded beef infused with savory, sweet Korean flavors. Slow-cooked to perfection, this dish requires minimal prep and delivers rich, umami-packed comfort in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale

1.5 lbs flank steak (trimmed of excess fat)
1/4 cup cornstarch
2 tablespoons sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon grated ginger

Instructions

Trim excess fat from beef and season with cornstarch.
In a slow cooker, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger to create the marinade.
Place beef in the marinade and stir to coat evenly.
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
Shred the beef using two forks and serve warm.
Optional: Simmer sauce for an additional 30 minutes if a thicker glaze is desired.

Notes

Serve with steamed rice or over egg noodles for a complete meal.
Spring onions and sesame seeds make great garnishes.
If the sauce is too fluid, simmer it in a pan on the stove until reduced.
